The Print House Hotel

Sustainability

Our environmental, cultural and procurement sustainability principles.

Sustainability Policy

Energy Efficiency

Energy Saving: We use LED lighting and motion-sensor systems where practical to reduce energy consumption.

Heating & Cooling: Energy-efficient climate control is used in rooms and adjusted to guest needs.

Solar Energy: Where feasible, rooftop solar panels are considered to support on-site generation.

Monitoring: Electricity use is monitored regularly and improved against efficiency targets.

Water Management

Low-flow fittings are used in showers, basins and toilets. Water use is monitored and guests are encouraged to save water.

Waste Management

Glass, plastic, paper and metal are separated for recycling. Single-use plastics are reduced in favour of more sustainable alternatives. Kitchen waste is composted where possible.

Sustainable Purchasing

We prefer local and sustainable food and beverage products, and environmentally responsible cleaning materials.

Green Spaces & Awareness

Local plant species are preferred in landscaping. Staff and guests are informed about sustainability practices, and feedback helps us improve.

Carbon Footprint & Transport

We monitor our environmental impact and provide information on public transport and more sustainable travel options.

Cultural Sustainability Policy

This policy aims to protect cultural heritage, cooperate with local communities and promote cultural diversity. Cultural sustainability means respect for social and cultural values as well as the environment.

We recognise and support local culture, work with local artisans and organisations where possible, and help guests discover regional crafts, cuisine and cultural venues. Local sourcing supports the regional economy. The policy is reviewed periodically.

Sustainable Procurement Policy

As The Print House Hotel we apply green purchasing strategies to increase sustainability, prefer environmentally responsible products and services, protect natural resources and reduce negative environmental impact.

This covers daily operations, maintenance, cleaning, food and beverage supply, furniture and décor. We prefer recyclable, lower-carbon and locally sourced products where possible, energy-efficient equipment, and environmentally conscious suppliers. Effectiveness is reviewed regularly.
